About Tony
Tony Seaton is a sixth generation, upper East Tennessean who has practiced in Johnson City for over 40 years. He started his own practice over 40 years ago concentrating his skills in serious injury law.
Tony has been a member of the Board of Governors of the Tennessee Trial Lawyers Association for over 30 years. He also serves on the Lawyers Involved for Tennessee board which is the lobbying equivalent for trial lawyers in Tennessee. He has been a member of the American Association for Justice since 1988. He co-authored an article for the Keenan Trial Institute and published in the Tennessee Trial Lawyer Magazine, “Admitted Fault in Negligence Actions: The Defendant’s Conduct is still on Trial.”
Tony has received numerous successful jury verdicts throughout the years. In the past 5 years, he obtained a $4.7 million dollar verdict in a nursing home abuse case, a $2.6 million dollar verdict for a slip and fall injury on ice in an apartment complex parking lot, a $23.5 million dollar verdict in a box truck wreck and a $6 million dollar verdict in an arrest and jail beating case.
In 2023, he served as the President of the Tennessee Trial Lawyers and in 2024 he received its most prestigious award of “Lifetime Achievement.”
Tony is formerly the Administrator of the Keenan Trial Institute, a national teaching college for advanced trial attorneys. He currently teaches Advanced Cross-Exam college and Advanced Closing Argument college.
